Establishment. The Parliamentary Committees Act 2003 sets out the functions and powers of the investigatory committees. At the start of each Parliament, the Assembly and Council appoint members to the various committees. Members tell their party leader which committees they are interested in. Shadow ministers normally work on the committee related to their shadow portfolio, but ministers usually do not work on committees; see a brief histroy of committees. |
