Once a bill has passed into law, it becomes and Act. Acts are available on the website.

Royal assent. This is when the Governor, on the Queen’s behalf, approves a bill which as been passed by the Parliament. When the bill is given royal assent it becomes an Act. |

Commencement. The Act becomes operational either on assent, by proclamation, or on a fixed date, or any combination of these, which is normally set out in section 2 of the Act. Assent and proclamation dates are published in the Victorian Government Gazette. |

Acts online. At royal assent the Act appears in the Statute Book. The Statute Book contains, by years, the original versions of Acts passed and regulations made. |
